Cancel All Holiday Travel Plans - Be Patriotic - Help America!

If you really want to help Americas dependency on oil, STAY HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!  Yep, use the telephone or computer to share stories or photos and enjoy the holidays without adding to the pollution and shortage problem.   Airplanes use tons of fuel and so does most mass transportation.   So if we all stay home we can make a big dent in our oil consumption which leads to lower prices at the pump for our really necessary trips.

No need to "press-the-flesh" given technologies capabilities.   Salesman no longer need to travel to visit with clients over lunch...just share a web page while "meeting" on the 'phone.  Conventions no longer need to set up in big inefficient halls or centers to display their wares to potential buyers...just share a web page catalog!  Video conference I think it is called.    If they can do it...so can you!

By not flying, not renting cars, not using the motel/hotel A/C or Heat or lights or water, you help America!  Sure some business will suffer, but over the past two centuries, we have survived the closure of buggy-whip & vinyl record & tube TV factories and we can survive a drastic change in traveling habits.

Besides, how many of you have ever visited relatives without a least one fight over something or other...and ended up with hurt feelings.  It happens in the best of families, so make your visit short and sweet by using the telephone...if arguments start - just hang up!  It makes the holidays a win-win situation.  (Of course, medical emergencies changes everything.)

Bottom line!  STAY OFF THE ROAD, STAY OUT OF THE AIR.....STAY HOME!

Remember, Benjamin Franklin once quoted that fish and visitors smell after three days. ...
