How about this": Bring all US military personnel home for
good! Every single soldier, support persons, civilian contractor - any one
connected with our military, etc. Bring all equipment we have everywhere -
planes, ground vehicles, kitchen equipment, toilet paper... anything they use. Tear down all
military bases, remove all movable structures and ship them back here. Leave
only that which is nailed down & painted.
With more than two and one half million U.S. personnel serving
across the planet on over 700 U.S. military bases spread across every continent,
it's time to face up to the fact that our American democracy has spawned its own
global empire.
Global military expenditure stands at over $1.46 trillion
dollars, (largest expenditure in our budget) money that could be used here at home to support Obama's wild overspending
of taxpayers dollars. We do not need to support anybody elses economy but our
own. These countries need to learn how to defend their own land against
aggressors, whether from inside or outside. If they can't they lose...simple
as that. However, with our troops and money readily at hand, why should they do
their own dirty work?
Do you know we still spend 89 billion dollars in China?...a
country that is so successful that it is outstripping us in the world economy. 65
billion in France, a country that publicly hates us! 46 billion in Japan, a
country that refuses to send it troops anywhere to help put down terrorists. 40
billion to India so they can staff call centers, 38 billion to Saudi Arabia, a country that overcharges us for
its oil. We spend 3 billion in S. Korea and plan to add 11 more billion so that the S. Korea industries can continue to send their goods to the U.S. consumer. Heck, GM's only economy car, the Aveo comes from Daewoo and our troops keep that country safe so they can send more along with Kia's and Hyundai's. Why not let their 3.5 million troops defend their own country? Israel is the largest total recipient of direct military assistance from the U.S. with the exception of Iraq, where we are actively engaged in defense with our military. Israel gets over 3 billion of our taxpayers dollars each year and Obama plans to increase that. They have a 3 million man standing army for their own defense and mandatory military service means the whole darn county gets up in arms at any threat.
Far from providing our defense, our military presence in other
countries endangers us. It drags us into their conflicts, provokes local
animosity, and wastes our own resources. We need to just pull in our "horns" and continue to
defend our shores against all enemies. If the rest of the world wants to go to
hell-in-a-handbasket...so be it! No more pulling France's fat out of the
fire, no more defending South Korea against the North. No more Granada's or
Panama's.
It is time for our allies to stand on their own two feet...we
had to do it and because of our self-reliance we are the strongest in the
world...a lesson everyone else needs to learn.
So, let's "bring the boys home with all their equipment" and
see what happens for a change when we aren't around to protect these folks from their playground bullies!
