Term Limits - 6 years and out you go!

It's time to dredge up the familiar hue and cry:  Throw the bums out!   Well sure, after 6 years let's remove them all from office.  Yep, President, VP, Senators, Representatives, State offices, County offices, local offices, etc...no more than 6 years consecutively.  If they want to skip six and run again, well that's OK.  But get whatever you have promised the voters, done in 6 years and then leave the next six to somebody else.  That way none of your paid time goes toward getting re-elected.  No money, no effort, no worrying about how you voted or acted will affect your next run for office.  No campaign committees, no speeches, no expensive travel, no smoozing the voters, no cocktail parties, nothing NaDa!

Every elected official can spend all their working days doing something productive, something that will benefit Americans, something that actually might work as intended, instead of getting all tangled up in bureaucratic gobbledegook & politicking.

Another benefit is that America does not have to pay for elections every two years...WOW, another big savings to every level of government, national, state and local.

Oh by the way, no big retirement plans for any elected official.   They run for office and serve entirely out of their desire to help the world.  Of course they get a salary for their 6 years' stint, but no more than what they were making in the private sector.   Yes, they get their office expenses paid, but no perks!  No Franking privileges except when contacting constituents.  Maybe free web service, telephone and copy paper, but not much more.

I wonder how many so-called honest politicians would be willing to run for office under these conditions?  Those who brag they are Good Guys on only wanting to help America or their community...would they still be getting in line to announce their candidacy under these restrictions?

I doubt it, and I bet you do too.
